Public Relations
The German woodworking and furniture industry was represented in printed publications in round about 300 million copies. This was backed up by radio and TV appearances and numerous other contributions via news agencies and press services. “To guarantee reporting on all topics of the woodworking and furniture industry all through the year” is the main task of of the HDH press and public relations bureau. This covers the fields of politics, industry and consumer matters together with trends and tendencies concerning the world of wood, furniture, furnishings, living, wood construction and interior architecture. The development in the quantity of special reprints proves that the acceptance by the media of topics related to the industry is rising; and that information on the economic situation, the demands and viewpoints of the industry, its innovations and activities is being distributed via the editorial offices in increasing measure.

Every year, the association’s PR department organises PR trips for journalists from all areas of the media – staff members of the daily papers, agency correspondents and technical journalists. Together with the journalists, the association visits interesting businesses in the industry. These present their production and demonstration facilities, and the company management is available for press interviews. Selected background discussions, visits to editorial offices, the annual press conferences on the occcasion of the imm cologne and the large-scale industrial press conference in Cologne each summer are among the further activities of the association's PR department, which, among other tasks, organises the PR work for the Oberfränkische Polstermöbelindustrie, the Initiative Pro Massivholz and the Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel.
